Since October of 1997, every fall our family has taken a trip across White’s Ferry for lunch on a Sunday afternoon.

It’s tradition.

It’s very important to our girls – and to us. And it’s what we do, year after year. With joy!

We are greatly blessed. We are rich indeed!

We’ve decided the best way to celebrate 25 years of marriage is to s-t-r-e-t-c-h it out throughout the entire year. It started last Christmas with a gorgeous diamond anniversary ring for me and has continued since then with dinners out and a few day trips. The past few days, Christoph and I took a leisurely drive up north to the quaint town of Cooperstown, New York to visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Doc+Baseball=Ahhh…

We had a wonderful time reading through EVERY detail of baseball history, slowly, purposefully, without any interruptions.

National Baseball Hall of Fame

It’s simply impossible to describe the amount of detail and fantastic history that is contained in this building (actually, it’s a complex of seven buildings joined together.) The experience was truly inspiring and fascinating. This is simply a fraction of all that we saw.

We packed a whole lot of sightseeing into just a few days. The weather was a good 20 to 25 degrees cooler in Cooperstown. The leaves were already beginning to turn – honestly it felt like the week before Thanksgiving up there.

What a gift to get to spend every day with my best friend. Happy anniversary, love!

The year’s not over. Where shall we go next, Christoph??

In keeping with a 3 year tradition…..the following pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy – and join us next year.

(Click on the above picture.)

I bought Evelyn a 1958 Hermes 3000 typewriter at the Montgomery General Hospital Picnic and Bazaar a couple of weeks ago. Actually, she pleaded with me to have it. She is fascinated with it.

Then I came across this article by my friend Joanie here. Such a fun rediscovery of a very big part of my life growing up. I can’t even count the number of term papers I punched out on our typewriter. Glad Evelyn appreciates a fine machine.

We first went to Myrtle Beach 16 years ago. It’s definitely one of our favorite places to be. Many happy memories…
